Client Story: Mrs. A
Mrs. A was a mother of two, a ten-year-old and a ten-day-old, when she came to Midtown Assistance Center in need of help with her rent. She had worked for two-and-a-half years as a paralegal before being laid off. Afterward, she worked by providing in home child care until she delivered her baby. Making $200/week doing child care was hardly enough to cover the expenses of her and her family, so she obtained her mechanic’s license and starting doing car repairs. She plans to resume working as a mechanic in the spring.
After she provided the proper documentation, MAC was able to help her with her rent for a month in November and December. Thanks to MAC donors, Mrs. A was also able to receive gifts for her two children through our Christmas program.
