Silver Linings

The future looked bleak for Anna back in 2015. Laid off from a salaried job, she struggled to find work. After six months of unemployment, Anna was hired by a leading insurance corporation. This was a step in the right direction but six months of unemployment had depleted her savings.

“The wolves were at my door,” she said. “I didn’t have enough for a full month of rent so I called MAC for help.” Anna explained her situation to the MAC staff and MAC was able to help her with a month of rental assistance. She was able to stay in her home and is enjoying her new job.

Recently, she was able to start donating to MAC through her company’s Matching Gift Program.

“MAC got me turned around and back on my feet so I decided to pay it forward by donating to MAC whenever I can,” she said.  “Things were really bad for me—lots of storm clouds, but MAC helped me and then I wanted to help too. The feeling I get helping someone else is the silver lining in my cloud.”
